The E-Passport

Since the Police arrested him on March 2010, Tax crime suspect Gayus Tambunan has left detention center 68 times, including some overseas trips to Singapore, Malaysia and Macau

According to the Police, Gayus and his wife used false passport for the overseas trips.

In order to prevent the falsification of passport in the future, the government has issued the E-Passport i.e. passport that has an electronic chip embedded inside the book for a more accurate identification process. The electronic-based information technology adopts and followed the security standard of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

I wonder whether this new kind of passport would be able to prevent people for falsifying passports, considering that like the old passport it will also be issued by human beings.

the e-passport more expensive than former passport >_<

Perhaps it will take some time, but soon there will be false E-passports too. But I think the reasons for E-passports are different. The chip will mainly satisfy the authorities' eternal hunger for information on people (even information on the kind of food one eats is provided to the US if one is on a flight from Europe to America).

Pakistan has implemented the digital passport. it's not the same as E passport, though. it's like instead of carrying the passport book, the data is saved onto a system. i like the electric chip method and i think it's a great idea!

@Meutia,
Yeah you are right, the e-passport is more expensive than the old one.
Thank you for your information, I'll check your block.

@Colson,
Now I know about the other purpose of e-passport. Thank you for sharing.

@Deasy,
Yes, let's see how it will be.

@Attayaya,
Senang saya telah mengingatkan anda.

@Furree Katt,
It is interesting to know about the digital passport issued in Pakistan.

Hi MultiBrand I love your blog I think you are doing a great service. I would say if you have a E passport or not this story boils down to one thing Money talks. How is it possible for him to get out 68 time never mind getting a flight out of the country? MONEY is how. I have all the up to date videos and links from all the news sources on my blog about Egypt. Lets support the Citizens of Egypt during this time.

Hi Multibrand..

E-Passport or none...we all know
crooks will still find their way
out of the country.

Which brings to mind the question:
Technology may change, but do people ?

kita tunggu aja pak.. (:

@Wisata Murah,
Mudah2an saja keadaan akan membaik.

@Jhess,
I am glad that you enjoyed reading my blog. I also sympathize with the people in Egypt.

@Bear Wife,
People will always change with
the change of time, and so will technology.

@TUKANG CoLoNG,
Iya kita tunggu saja.

e pasport seharusnya biaya pembuatannya lebih murah, karena lebih paperless

H. Nizam said...

R10,
E-paper disini tetap berbentuk buku dilengkapi alat elektronik, sehingga lebih mahal.

Someone told me the other day that UK passport is using the same technology, and it could be use as gps or something. that's too much.

H. Nizam said...

Hi Triesti,
Passport equipped with gps? hmmm ...
for monitoring passport holders?
I don't think that's a good idea.

E-passports shouldn't also be too expensive.
