Inul, Candidate Regent of Malang

Many Chief of Regencies in Indonesia will end their office terms this year, therefore many regional elections will be held.

In this connection, some celebrities have stated their wishes to participate as Candidates in the said election, among others film actress Ayu Azhari who wishes to be Candidate Vice Regent of Sukabumi, West Java.

And recently, Dangdut Singer Inul Daratista has also stated her wish to run as Candidate in the Election of Regent of Malang, East Java, next August.

Detik quoted Inul as saying that for that purpose she will pick the Chief of the National Awakening Party (PKB) in Malang as her running mate, and shall prepare finance amounting to Rp 60 Billion Rupiah to support her election campaign.

Considering that celebrities are famous and have lots of financial resources, it is obvious that they want to get top position in society. In this case, I hope that they would do their very best to improve their knowledge, abilities, moral, behaviors and everything needed to fulfill all the needs of the people and country.

If Inul wins will that mean we will have to dangdut our way from the airport to the hotel ....I intend to visit Indonesia in june for holiday but just can't decide which part of Indonesia i should go .

Some artists Indonesia has successfully sitting in political office, such as Rano Karno, who now serves as the Vice Regent of Tangerang. Inul Daratista plan to get ahead in the election Regent and Vice Regent of Malang certainly very interesting. But should be decided by careful and thorough. Successful teams must have a reliable, strong and committed and have a large mass support from the surveys.
Implementation of the election Regent and Vice Regent of Malang planned date of August 5, 2010. Malang Regent tenure will expire on October 26, 2010. The selection will be followed by about 1,931,805 voters.

@Love Money Maker,
If Inul wins, there's a possibility that she'll ask visitors sing dangdut and dance on the way to the hotel.
Thank you for dropping by.

Iya, kemungkinan rakyatnya akan menari gaya ngebor

@Info Seputar Kita,
Artists have some advantageous compared to conventional politician i.e. popularity and financial sources.
However, experience shows that those are not enough. Most of all they need strong leadership and wide knowledge and administration skills.

We have our local and regional authority elections this year too; and the creation of an Auckland super-city which will have about the quarter of New Zealand's population. The new super-city takes over about four smaller cities and district councils as well. the people have had no say about the creation of this new super-city - they will just vote the new mayor and council in in October. Democratic elections for a government created authority.

Auckland has one fourth of New Zealand's population? That'll mean that its citizens would have decisive voices in your country. and everything happen there could be regarded as reflection of New Zealand, right?

@Saung Web,
I agree with you, many people in seems to only vote based on popularity of the candidates.
But this also happens in other countries.
