Susno Duadji: Quo Vadis?

Last Monday afternoon, 12 April, former Chief of Detectives of the Police Comnr. Gen. Susno Duadji was arrested by the Police at the Jakarta International Airport as he was about to leave for a medical check-up in Singapore.

After being questioned for four hours at the national Police headquarters, Susno was released in the evening.

For detailed media reports, please click here, here, here and here.

What's bothering me about the above arrest is that the whole process of arrest was covered by TV stations, as if their reporters have already known about what's going to happen that day.

Considering that our society needs a strong, credible and reliable Police force, I hope that there is no hidden agenda whatsoever behind the arrest, and the whole case would be clarified and settled A.S.A.P.

Though I was puzzled too with the whole process of the arrest, I also questioned the sincere motives behind Susno's departure to Singapore. Are Indonesian doctors so inferior that he had to go to Singapore just to have a complete medical check-up?? (Lately, if I'm not mistaken I got the information that he just wanted to have his eyes checked, this is even funnier!) This is an implied underestimation of the Indonesian doctors' skills.

But if he thinks so, that's fine! Next time if the Indonesian police fail to tackle down the illegal case brokers, let's go to Singapore to ask Singapore police to help us eliminate these illegal brokers! Well??

Yari,
The whole things make people think that there is effort to make Susno a 'hero'. Certain member of parliament has mentioned this not long ago. This would be like turning a Sinner into a Saint. Considering that it was Susno who started it after KPK found his recommendation letter to Bank Century about Budi Sampoerna's account, and it was he who created the nicknames: Cicak/ Gecko for KPK and Buaya/Crocodile for the Police.
But let's be positive and hope that at the end of the day things would work out fine.
