George Benson Coming to Jakarta


Jazz Guitarist and Singer George Benson is one of my most favorite non-rock musician.

I first listened to his songs when I was a teenager, at that time my eldest sister Aty was very fond of him and listened to his songs very often.

My favorite George Benson songs were The Greatest Love of All, This Masquerade and Wonder Boy.

This week he will perform two days at the Java Jazz Festival 2011 at the Jakarta International Expo ground in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta as follows :

- Saturday, 5 March,  A Tribute to Nat King Cole,  Online Ticket:  SOLD OUT
- Sunday,   6 March,  The Greatest Hits Show,  Online Ticket:  Rp 402.500,-  PLUS  Daily Pass: Rp  529.000.- OR Three Days Pass: Rp. 1.449.000,- (Tax Included)

    george benson ternyata mau pentas di jakarta, ya, mas harry? saya suka suaranya yang khas, meski liriknya jarang yang bisa saya hafal, hehe ...

    Obviously the top notch of great popular music artists will be performing in Jakarta. Will you yourself be at the festival also?? In the audience, I mean :).

    I wonder though why it is called a "Jazz" festival?

    Yes I will be there.
    Why they call it "jazz" festival ?
    Perhaps because that what the organizer have in mind when they plan the annual event more than 7 years ago.

    Beberapa tahun yang lalu ada acara musik international di Bali diikuti a.l. guitarist Styx Tommy Shaw, penyanyi Scorpion dll.
    Mudah2an dimasa depan akan ada lagi.

    I really like jazz but im not familiar with the singer hehe because when I listening jazz i only like hear the instrument (accoustic), like combination of guitar, saxaphone or piano :)

    Sebenarnya asal musik jazz dari kaum hitam di AS dulu kebanyakan miskin dan bekas budak.
    Saya pikir musik maupun seni tidak mengenal ekslusivitas. Mungkin orangnya saja yang merasa demikian.
